What is NLP?  It stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming.  It is a set of techniques that use the power of words and imagination to help you change and to achieve your goals and ambitions, and it is considered one of the fastest therapies you will come across.

It is an extremely rapid form of 'psychological therapy', capable of addressing a wide range of problems that psychologists are likely to encounter, including:

  • depression
  • psychosomatic illnesses
  • learning disorders
  • phobias
  • habit disorders

NLP assists us in becoming more 'self aware' of the way in which we communicate and our patterns of mental and emotional behaviour, and how we can get the most out of these factors to support a far happier and fulfilled 'us'.

The issue is NOT what NLP is, but what you can do with 'it'.  What would you like to change if you could experience the world differently?  What would you do if you could change the way others experience the world?  These are the real keys as to what NLP is all about.

The founders of NLP are Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder who co- founded NLP in the 1970's.  It is based on the connections they found between 'neurological processes (Neuro) and language (linguistics) and behavioural patterns, learned through experience (programming).  They found that organised correctly, NLP could help us achieve goals not previously thought achievable.

They found it was possible to duplicate the behaviour of highly successful individuals. In short they set out to 'model' the ideal human behaviours, which can then be learned and duplicated in others, so that they experience similar successes.

Everything we experience in life is stashed away in this massive filing cabinet called your subconscious mind. Every thing we say, do and even feel, is checked against these files, to make sure our behaviours remain consistent. That's great when the files hold positive information that is for our benefit. However, often we pick up negative beliefs and behaviours, especially in our formative years that are NOT helpful. They hold us back and trigger fears and negative feeling's and in turn these make us unhappy, can impact on others around us and are likely to prevent us from reaching our goals and desires.

Our aim at Reachout is to use NLP techniques to change the way we perceive ourselves, and change our behaviours to support success and happiness. Whilst completely tailored to support your individual needs, these behaviours will also reflect those modelled by some of the most successful individuals on the planet.
